A statutory regional development assignment leads BRL to work upon request for the Languedoc-Roussillon Regional Council and for other local authorities in several ways:
Improving water resource management
Preventing and controlling floods
Protecting and utilizing coastal areas and rural areas
These activities are the responsibility of BRL’s land-use and asset management division, the Direction de l’Aménagement et du Patrimoine. It is in charge of:
steering investment projects related to the development of the regional waterworks infrastructure,
rigorous maintenance of the property in the regional concession area and the assets under its other specific concession contracts (for local councils and Associations Syndicales Autorisées or user associations),
acting as the managing authority for local development studies related to its area of skills.
It also provides specialist assistance to local authorities on complex projects by managing works, assets, services or projects for them. Download the “Regional Development” leaflet
